Who are we?

We are the Zuid-West Hoek Linux User Group and our motto is "Free as in Open Source and free as in free beer". We are located in the beautifull country of the netherlands, as our domain name also indicates. We target to be the Linux Users Group for the geographical South West part of the Netherlands. Though everybody is welcome to participate, no matter where you are from.

Why are we?

There was no a LUG (or Linux User Group) in the Zuid-West Hoek and we thought it would be a nice way to get into contact with other Linux users. So we thought it was time to stimulate the Linux based activity in the region. A LUG is a subtle and easy way to communicate with other Linux users in your geographical region. This can be either for information, get help or just to have an interesting conversation.

Why is your site in English and not in Dutch?

It was decided to use English across the whole site, because in that way the entire (international) community could benefit from our howto's, articles and blogs. Though for those that are more english impared, our forums do have a Dutch section.

Do you have meetings?

Offcourse we have meetings. Our meetings are every second saturday of the month at 20.00 in Bergen op Zoom in "De Teerkamer" (Netherlands, Noord-Brabant). It's pub which is located at the "Grote Markt" (see below for a map). Usually every meeting is accompanied by a thread in our forums announcing the next meeting, if you are interested in meeting in general just post a message on the forums.
